Joseph Ash Galvanizing are currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to support our team at our Premier Galvanizing site in Corby.
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years' experience in a similar environment in a focused health and safety officer position or an advisory role.
A NEBOSH general certificate is required for our Health and Safety Officer.

What we are looking for
- NEBOSH GENERAL CERTIFICATE IS ESSENTIAL
- Fundamental knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
- A motivated team player who is engaging at all levels.
- Ability to accept challenge.
- Understanding of when to escalate and when to take action personally.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- 2 Years' experience in a role solely based in H&S - consultancy and H&S officer roles alongside production or supervisory positions will not be considered for this position
Your Day to Day
- To support the site in complying with Health & Safety legislation.
- Collaborate with the Supervisors and shop floor colleagues to provide guidance on all Health & Safety related matters and give information, advice and coaching on relevant legislation and internal HSE systems and reinforcement of site standards.
- Indicate the necessary measures required for continued legal compliance and continuous improvement.
- To proactively support the processes on site and be an active participant in the daily and weekly process.
- Work with the site management to set targets of risk management and accident reduction and drive a proactive safety culture through effective communications and continuous improvement.
- Maintain the sites compliance within the Group Health and Safety Management System.
- Support operational leaders to conduct effective investigations and develop sustainable plans to prevent reoccurrence.
- Participate in change management projects to ensure safety is considered at all times and projects are safely executed.
- Support shift Supervisors and Managers through guidance to support them in meeting their Health & Safety responsibilities.
